Cover Critique (1)

Hello, hello, people of the world! Okay, so Cover Critique is going to be a weekly feature here on A Severe Book Addiction. It's inspired by Steph of Steph Su Reads and Jessica of Shut Up! I'm Reading, both of which are great blogs I highly recommend to all of you!
So how this works is: I'm going to pick a cover. Any cover. Probably up-and-coming, since those are the easiest to do. And I'm gonna 'critique' it based on JUST its cover. This is to bring attention to upcoming releases, and I'll post the summary so tha
t even if I don't really like the cover, the book might be really good and you guys can add the books to your TBR lists! After all, we shouldn't judge books by their covers (mostly...). ANYWAYS. On to the critique (:

This week's cover is Halo by Alexandra Adornetto. Check it
out:

Okay, so I have nothing bad to say about this cover! I think this is absolutely gorgeous! The lighting, the models, the models' poses...They all seem to come together form a perfect blend of mystery, intrigue and romance. I love how the sun is shining between the boy and the girl so you can't see their faces, only their silhouettes, and I think that seems very appropriate for what this book is about: angels. Angels are the new vampire, you guys. So many more books are coming out that feature angels! And besides its cover, Halo (Beyoncé, anyone?) sounds like an amazing story! I can't wait for it! Here's the summary:

Three angels are sent down to bring good to the world: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. But she is the most human, and when she is romantically drawn to a mortal boy, the angels fear she will not be strong enough to save anyone—especially herself—from the Dark Forces.

Is love a great enough power against evil?

Halo will be released on September 14th, 2010
